When Edmunds tested a 750i, it reached 60 mph from off the line in just 4.5 seconds. According to BMW, the M760i can do the zero-to-60 mph sprint an incredible 3.7 seconds.

Edmunds wrote: “The base inline-6 should satisfy most shoppers with its seamless turbocharged thrust and laudable refinement, but the V8 takes things to another level. ... Either way, the eight-speed automatic is one of the best in the industry, delivering buttery shifts right on time."

Standard features for the base 740i include automatic high beams, 18-inch wheels with run-flat tires, automatic windshield wipers, adaptive LED headlights that feature LED foglights, an adaptive air suspension, auto-dimming and heated side mirrors that can be power folded and a panoramic sunroof. Also included are power-closing doors, a power-adjustable steering wheel, leather upholstery, wood trim, ten-way power-adjustable heated front seats with driver memory, keyless entry and ignition, front and rear parking sensors, four-zone climate control and a rearview mirror that dims automatically.

Technology features that come standard include the iDrive infotainment system with a controller enhanced with a touchpad, a digital gauge cluster display, a rearview camera, a 10.2-inch central display, BMW Online (includes MyInfo and BMW Apps), a Harman Kardon stereo system with 16-speakers, HD radio and satellite radio, wireless phone charging, internet with Wi-Fi hotspot capability and Bluetooth. Also standard is BMW’s Gesture Control system, which lets drivers control the infotainment system without needing to press buttons.

A number of options packages are available, including the Autobahn package, the Cold Weather package, the Driver Assistance Plus package, the Driver Assistance Plus II package, The Executive package and the M Sport package. Options that can be ordered individually include some from the different packages, plus summer tires, 20-inch wheels, an in-cabin perfume diffuser, a large sunroof with LED highlights, a wood and leather steering wheel, a Bowers & Wilkins surround-sound stereo with 16 speakers and a night-vision camera system.
