Check Out The 2019 BMW X5 and Take It For A Test Drive
The 2019 BMW X5 is a midsize luxury crossover that customers of car dealers near San Luis Obispo appreciate for its outstanding driving dynamics, as well as its sophisticated and comfortable interior. The redesigned 2019 BMW X5 is larger than the outgoing model, with an even longer list of technology features.
BMW made the double kidney grille even larger this year. There’s more room in the cabin, especially in the second row and the available third row. Buyers will also get the newest version of the iDrive infotainment system, featuring twin 12.3-inch displays. Edmunds chose the 2019 BMW X5 as one of its Best Midsize SUVs, as well as Best Luxury SUV. SLO BMW shoppers looking for a luxury SUV that has the perfect balance of features should place the BMW X5 at the top of their shopping list.
Reviews for the 2019 BMW X5 have been positive, with Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com opining: “If you want a midsize-luxury-crossover SUV that behaves more like a BMW sports sedan, the X5 continues to offer impressive performance with everyday practicality. A long list of features and amenities — from a V8 engine and massaging seats to semi-autonomous driving — will please a variety of desires.”
Luxury Interior and Sporty Power
The 2019 BMW X5 seats five but the available third-row seat allows seating for seven. The X5 comes in two versions: xDrive40i and xDrive50i. All-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic gearbox are standard on both models. Powering the xDrive40i is a 3.0-liter inline V6 engine generating
335 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. The xDrive 501 is motivated by a turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 producing 456 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings for the V6 are 20 mpg city/26 mpg highway.* The V8 returns 17 mpg city/22 mpg highway.
Not So Standard, Standard Features
Standard features for the base xDrive40i include 16-way-power front seats with three levels of heating, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic moonroof, a power-adjustable steering wheel, front and rear parking sensors, a power tailgate, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a universal garage-door opener. Also standard is the BMW iDrive 7 infotainment system, which comes with a 10.2-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, a 205-watt stereo system with 10 speakers, a navigation system and two USB ports. Safety equipment that comes standard includes pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking.

The Driving Assistance Plus Package adds a number of innovative driver-assist features, including Traffic Jam Assist, a system that lets the X4 drive itself when driving at low speeds.
