BMW of SLO - A San Luis Obispo Car Dealer
Presents the 2020 BMW 3 Series
After its 2019 redesign, the BMW 3 Series continues to set the bar that rivals aspire to reach. You won’t find another small luxury sport sedan that offers the perfect blend of performance and comfort that you get with the 2020 BMW 3 Series. Customers of San Luis Obispo car dealerships were impressed by the 3 Series’ exceptional ride, precise handling, and powerful four- and six-cylinder engines.
For 2020, the BMW 3 Series retains its turbocharged four-cylinder engine, albeit with a bit more power and low-end torque. BMW buyers at the car dealers near San Luis Obispo are glad to learn about the return of an available six-cylinder engine, which is standard on the M340i trim. Anyone looking for a sporty luxury sedan that provides head-turning looks, a comfortable and attractive interior, and dynamic performance should place the 2020 BMW 3 Series at the top of their shopping list.
The automotive media recognizes the attributes of the 2020 BMW 3 Series. Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com wrote: “… this 7th-generation 3 Series also brings the latest technology and safety features. Performance ranges from good to great. The base 4-cylinder 330i, introduced last year, will satisfy buyers prioritizing the badge, while the new-for-2020 M340i that packs a 382-horsepower turbocharged 6-cylinder will attract the BMW faithful truly in it for the 'Ultimate Driving Machine' mission of the 3 Series.”
Pure Luxury and Power
The 2020 BMW 3 Series seats five and comes in two trim levels: 330i and M340i. Both models get standard rear-wheel drive and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive as an option. Powering the 330i is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, teamed to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This engine propels the 330i from zero to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. The M340i employs a six-cylinder engine that achieves 382 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission. With rear-wheel drive, this engine allows the M340i to get to 60 mph from off the line in 4.4 seconds, while all-wheel drive gets to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds.
Performance. Style. Handling and Safety
Fuel economy is excellent, with rear-wheel-drive 330i models getting an EPA-estimated 26/36 mpg, which is among the highest fuel-efficiency figures for its segment.* All-wheel-drive models return 25/34 mpg. The M340i checks in with 22/30 mpg.
Inside, the driver and passengers will enjoy the comfortable and supportive seats. The 3 Series comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and buyers can select the available Vernasca leather for an even greater degree of luxury. There’s now more trunk space than ever, with 17 cubic feet to carry groceries or to haul gear. The 40/20/40-split rear seat provides even more space for larger items.
The 2020 BMW 3 Series received the highest score of Good in all six IIHS crash tests and was named a Top Safety Pick+ model. As of the date of this writing, the 2020 3 Series has yet to be tested by the NHTHA.
